Our first tournament experience was an overwhelming success!

Departing on a rainy morning of October 2nd, the main body of the team loaded into a van in Lincoln to begin their 22 hour journey to Las Vegas.  While everyone expected to have a great time in Vegas, little did they know how great the tournament would be.

The first games were on October 4th, with the first opponent being the Capital Beltway Warriors was a fun game (to at least watch!).  While the score remained very close throughout the game, the Nebraska Warriors tied the game on a PK goal to tie the game.  The Capital Beltway Warriors also presented Jason Steiner with a commemorative puck.  What a great group!  The next game was a little bit of struggle as the Philly Flyers Warriors took down the Nebraska Warriors in a 3-1 loss for us.  While this game was a lot more physical (our goalie and defense took a lot of bumps and bruises) but our spirit did not waiver!

On October 5th, the Nebraska Warriors completed their pool play by taking on the Utah Warriors in a 9-2 win!  Our first ever official win!  This lead the team to the playoffs, in which we were knocked out of the tournament by North Carolina Warriors in a 3-2 loss.  North Carolina went on to play Philly Flyers Warriors, in which the Philly Flyers won, 7-3.

Overall, we finished the tournament 1-2-1 and were ranked 4th out of 8.
